Dubbing Brothers in Los Angeles powered by Neumann Monitoring

KH monitors delivering precision for VO productions

Los Angeles, June 27th, 2026 – Neumann.Berlin is proud to announce its contribution to the newly designed dubbing stages at Dubbing Brothers’ facility in Burbank, Los Angeles. As part of an extensive renovation led by Studio Sound Service, two state-of-the-art dubbing stages – Stage G and Stage H – have been constructed within an active production facility. Each stage includes a control room and recording booth, designed to meet the demanding requirements of modern dubbing workflows. The project underscores Neumann’s role in delivering precise, reliable monitoring for high-end post-production environments.

The project posed significant technical challenges, as construction took place within a fully operational building with adjacent working studios. A key priority was achieving enhanced acoustic isolation while working within the constraints of the existing structure.

Studio Sound Service, drawing on its extensive experience in high-end dubbing environments, worked closely with Dubbing Brothers to deliver tailored acoustic and architectural solutions that meet the strict demands of professional audio production.

A Modern Creative Environment

Beyond performance, the project also focused on redefining the visual and spatial experience of the studios. In collaboration with Jérôme Malaize, CTO of Dubbing Brothers, a new design concept was developed to replace the outdated aesthetic of the original spaces.

The resulting environment combines functionality with a warm, contemporary feel. Soft color palettes, natural wood finishes, clean lines, and indirect lighting create a flexible and comfortable workspace. Integrated shelving and custom interior design elements further enhance the balance between technical precision and creative atmosphere.

"I discovered Neumann speakers through my friends, who are sound engineers working on orchestral recording and mixing, and I wanted to bring that neutral sound to our studios," Jérôme shares. "We record and mix dubbing, and our engineers really appreciate this precision for the work we do in our studios and editing suites. We work on the sound of the voices and their spatialization from stereo to Atmos format in some of our studios, and this neutrality gives us excellent control over the sound when choosing reverb, EQ, or dynamic processing for the voices. At every stage of production: recording, editing, mixing, and finally quality control, this attention to detail is essential to delivering the best possible results for our clients.

Precision Monitoring with Neumann

Both dubbing stages are equipped with 5.1 monitoring systems based on Neumann studio monitors, ensuring accurate and consistent sound reproduction:

  • KH 310 monitors for the front channels
  • KH 120 II monitors for surround channels
  • KH 750 DSP for the LFE channel

This configuration provides the transparency and reliability required for critical listening tasks in film and television post-production.

“Accurate monitoring is essential in dubbing workflows, where every detail matters,” said Roman Kramer, Product Manager at Neumann. “We are proud to support Dubbing Brothers with solutions that deliver trusted, reference-grade sound in demanding professional environments.”

Seamless Execution Across Continents

Studio Sound Service managed the project end-to-end, including acoustics, architecture, and interior design. The construction phase required remote coordination with a local team in Los Angeles – an additional layer of complexity successfully addressed through continuous communication and local expertise.

Cecilia Torracchi, Partner and Designer at Studio Sound Service: "The project posed significant technical challenges, as construction took place within a fully operational building with adjacent working studios. A key priority was achieving enhanced acoustic isolation while working within the constraints of the existing structure"

Francesco Perlangeli, Director of Audio/Video Production at the Colburn School, played a key role on-site, acting as the project’s local representative and ensuring quality control throughout the process.

Supporting the Future of Post-Production

With this installation, Dubbing Brothers continues to expand its global footprint and commitment to excellence in dubbing and post-production services. Neumann’s monitoring solutions help ensure a consistent, high-quality listening experience across productions and markets.
